Mountainfilm on Tour brings a selection of culturally rich, adventure-packed and incredibly inspiring documentary films curated from the Mountainfilm festival held every Memorial Day weekend in Telluride, Colorado. Bozeman Film Society partners with the dZi Foundation for the 2nd year to host the tour at the Ellen Theatre 7:00 PM on Wednesday, March 6th with films that will explore the themes connected to the Mountainfilm mission: using the power of film, art and ideas to inspire audiences to create a better world. Mountainfilm presenter, Jim Nowak, President and Co-Founder of dZi Foundation, will guide the audience through the program providing insight on the films, filmmakers and subjects. Program. The Ridgway, CO-based non-profit, founded in 1998 by longtime mountaineers Jim Nowak and Reynolds, accomplishes their mission through implementing community-driven programs that improve public facilities, public health, income levels and educational opportunities while preserving community unity, the natural environment, and indigenous cultures. The dZi Foundation is an official non-profit sponsor of Mountainfilm and has a prestigious 4-Star rating by Charity Navigator. Mountainfilm Festival Mountainfilm began in 1979 and is one of America’s longest-running film festivals. The festival is best described by one word: inspiring. In addition to screening leading independent documentary films from around the world, the festival includes a full-day symposium on contemporary issues, art and photography exhibits, early morning coffee talks, outdoor programs, a book-signing party, an ice cream social, student programs and a closing picnic/awards ceremony.
