ICE FISHING
A little ice and a negative number on the thermometer never stopped an avid fisherman! On these "strictly seasonal" areas, fishermen will open holes in the ice and use hooks and spears to catch their dinner. Ice fishing locations in Bozeman are limited but they are still popular in town and around the region.
All nonresidents 15 years and older are required to obtain a fishing license. A licensed adult must accompany anyone under 15 years old. Those living in Montana for 6 months or longer are considered residents and may apply for resident licenses.
